It’s Saturday, September 28, and ‘Black Heart’, Part 2 of my novella ’Tales of Evildoing’, just dropped yesterday! I’m thrilled to finally release this to my readers after slowly reworking it over the past five years. Yeah, you read that right—five years!

A little backstory: Tales of Evildoing is a collection of short stories I first created back in August 2017. Initially, these were written as one-page treatments for a series of short horror films that a friend in the film industry was planning to produce. But, as things often go, my friend’s role at the studio changed, and the project was shelved.

So there I was, with a series of standalone treatments, all stuck in a folder, waiting for further adaptation—like so many ideas do. Fast forward to earlier this year: I was working on my website and had just completed the first draft of my debut novel. To give myself mental breaks from the novel, I started revisiting these shorts, using them to recharge my creative energy.

By June of this year, as my website neared completion, I began brainstorming ways to launch it. With Halloween approaching and these spooky stories in hand, I decided to release the novella in six parts—a perfect way to introduce my readers to characters who will eventually appear in a full-length novel I’m conceptualizing.

I’m beyond excited to share the next four parts with you all and finally bring these stories to life. Each one explores a different aspect of the horror and horror-fantasy genres that I fell in love with growing up. ‘Black Heart’ is a nod to the zombie genre, especially for fans of Romero, and I hope you find the dark humor woven throughout these tales.
